BSIJP – Lesson and Ride

How does a typical ride of BSIJP Recrea proceed?:

• The rides are between 20 to 25 km and mostly take place on unpaved terrain.
• The rides are guided by a member of BSIJP Recrea who knows the area well. A unique opportunity to discover the nicest trails in a new region!
• You are expected to have good control over your horse in all gaits and always prioritize safety and respect for other riders.
• The event lasts a full day. Meeting around 10 am, after which the group sets off together. Along the way, there are regular breaks to rest the horses and riders. At noon, lunch is had together. For this, you bring your own picnic. After the ride, you return to the starting point where the trailers are parked.

For whom:

• BSIJP Recrea aims to let people with Icelandic horses enjoy beautiful rides in Belgium together.
• The rides are open to everyone with an Icelandic horse, but if you have a regular riding partner with another horse, they are welcome to join.
• Participants are experienced riders who can control their horse in all gaits.
• The rides are free for BSIJP members.
• For non-members, there is a contribution of €5 to be deposited to: BE35 7331 4920 6137 with the message ‘Recrea ride + date of the ride + name’. This amount must be received before the start of the ride.
• Registration deadline is 5 days in advance.
• The ride is at your own risk, and insurance is mandatory:
  • BSIJP members are recommended to have VLP insurance through the studbook.
  • If you are not yet insured, you can take out a ‘day insurance’ through the BSIJP webshop.
