The International Society for Equitation Science (ISES) will hold its 21st International Conference from 11–13 August 2026 at the LEGOLAND® Conference Centre in Billund, Denmark. Under the theme “The Nature of Horses,” the conference will explore the latest research on equine behaviour, welfare and training, bringing together scientists, veterinarians, equine professionals, coaches and riders from around the world. The programme includes keynote lectures, scientific presentations and practical discussions, as well as optional field visits showcasing innovative approaches to horse management and biodiversity.
Those who are unable to attend in person can participate virtually, with live online access to the conference sessions. Registration for virtual attendance is now open.
ISES is an international, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting evidence-based research and education on horse training, behaviour and welfare. Through collaboration between researchers and practitioners, the society works to improve the understanding of how horses learn and to encourage ethical, science-based training methods that benefit both horses and humans. FEIF is a member of ISES, reflecting its commitment to promoting evidence-based practices that support the welfare, training and management of Icelandic horses.
