This spring, the WorldFengur coat colour coding system was updated and now uses five digits instead of four. The new system makes it possible to record the coat colours of Icelandic horses with greater accuracy.
During the update, several errors were identified, including cases where the recorded coat colour of a horse was not consistent with the colour codes of its parents. Registrars are currently working to correct these instances.
If owners notice that the colour code of their horse has not been updated correctly, they are kindly asked to contact the registrar in their country.
Furthermore, owners who have had the coat colour genetics of their horses analysed are also encouraged to submit the results for registration in WorldFengur.
