New BLUP values have been stored in WorldFengur but the last breeding show of the season ended in the second week of September. Now the BLUP calculations are based on scores from breeding shows as well as competition results. Results from the following competition tests will be used: Tölt (T1, T3, T2, and T4), Four-gait classes (V1, V2, and gæðingakeppni B-class). Five-gait classes (F1, F2, and gæðingakeppni A-class) and Pace classes (250-meter pace race, 100-meter speed pace, and the pace test). The number of breeding show records include now over 38.000 assessments, and the competition results include around 172.000 records. So, the information used in the BLUP calculations is always getting more and more extensive resulting in higher overall accuracy of the BLUP system. The Virtual mate selection and Stallions selection will be updated shortly but that is a very valuable and interesting tool for breeders.
