Volker Ledermann, FEIF Breeding Leader from 1979 – 1984 and FEIF President from 1984 – 1988 passed away on December 6, 2021.
Volker was the second president of FEIF and continued working in this function in the spirit of his predecessor Ewald Isenbügel. Nevertheless, he always stressed that FEIF – while growing – needs to become better understandable to the members and assist when problems need to be resolved in the member countries.
His motto was: all those who love the Icelandic horse should contribute to the realization of the central idea upon which the whole federation is based: friendship and peace across all national borders.
Volker was co-editor of the FEIF book “Icelandic Horses – the Story of a Dream”
