Mid of March 80 international participants used the chance to study how Icelandic horses create movements in all their gaits when attending Gillian Higgins’ presentation with live painted horses during the sport judges seminar 2019 in Stansted, London and in the famous Ashfields Carriage & Polo Club. Gillian Higgins is an authority in equine anatomy and biomechanics, professional sports and remedial therapist. She is well known for her anatomical painting on live horses which she uses for her teaching. Following her demonstration Mette Moe Mannseth and Þorgeir Guðlaugsson gave a presentations about biomechanics and locomotion in the context of FEIF judging criteria and guidelines for the sport. In there they also introduced some innovative methods to increase the accuracy of judgements. The seminar was well received by the participants that were very praising in their responses.
