The training continues, and the final coaching for the competition sharpens minds. The riders are concentrating hard. But we can take a quick tour of our surroundings: Axevalla travbana, the trotting centre where we train, is one of the biggest in Sweden. And indeed, the area is vast! On entering the location there is the grandstand for spectators, a huge building with canteens, and seating behind glass, overlooking the track. Driving on past countless permanent paddocks, the visitor enters an area of about 20 large stable blocks, from various decades. Many carry a sign ‘Hästhotell’ or ‘Gäststall’, and our horses two are in these guest stables. The local Icelandic Club is working closely with the Trotting Centre, so we have a good infrastructure here: 2 oval tracks and a pace track. During the week we are also able to use some of the trotting track for training. Then there is a large riding hall, outdoor arenas, a farrier school, a horse clinic. We are grateful to the organise that we can use this amazing venue. For the competition on Thu-Sat, visitors will be welcome – up to about 30.000:, there is plenty of space for everyone!
