Back in Berlin – World Championships for Icelandic Horses 2019

July 10 2018 | World Championships

After 2013, the World Championship for Icelandic Horses will take place again in 2019 from August 4 to 11 in the equestrian sports park Berlin-Karlshorst. Preparations are already underway to provide the best Icelandic horses in the world with optimal conditions and an unforgettable experience for the spectators.

For the 2019 World Championships, a 12,000-seat partially covered stadium will be temporarily built in the equestrian sports park Karlshorst in Berlin-Lichtenberg. Tickets and accommodation can already be booked on the website www.wm2019.berlin
A special event in addition to the sporting competitions is the horse show ‘More Horsepower’ on Saturday evening, 10 August. The highlight of this show will be the performance of the legendary master of free dressage Jean-François Pignon with his 12 grey horses.
In the vicinity of the World Championships, visitors can look forward to a new inclusive riding therapy centre of the foundation Reha-Ost, a completely renovated regional train station directly at the event grounds as well as numerous shops and hotels in the district of Berlin-Lichtenberg. The metropolis of Berlin, and the district in particular, is ideally equipped for this dynamic tournament in August 2019, when the world’s best riders will compete on their Icelandic horses in front of thousands of spectators.
