FEIF Youth Award 2017

February 10 2018 | Youth Work

The Award ‘FEIF Youth Country of the year 2017′ went to Denmark. They set themselves (!) up early in 2017, when there was practically no infrastructure for youth work. After the seed of a new determination to do something for the young Danish riders had been planted in the minds of a small group of Danish participants at the FEIF young Leaders’ seminar in 2016, Sweden there was no stopping them. Within their first year of existence, the newly formed working group had organised the Danish Youth Cup, a week-long event involving 48 riders trainers, judges and (!) large numbers of competent and eager volunteers. Speaking the language of today’s teenagers, they now have an inspiring Instagram account with goes to a different horse professional every month, offering a glimpse into the lives of our role models. And most importantly, a sense of community, of purpose and of vision has been created from the sheer will power, enthusiasm and pragmatism of the young
people involved. Congratulations Denmark. No stopping you now!!!
