Time to think about the volunteers, and there are well over 500 of them. You will meet the first ones on entrance to the grounds, waving you in and on to the parking lot. If you are camping, you will be given a bin bag before you find your slot. More volunteers at the entrance checking tickets, handing out the starting and result lists every day. The immaculately clean toilets and washrooms have already been mentioned, and high above in the VIP tent volunteers are serving sponsors and other important guests. But most importantly, wherever you meet them, you are greeted with a smile, a readiness to help, and often enough a wee joke. Thank you, each and every one of you, it would not be possible without you. The team works!
