FEIF Conference: a huge success

February 13 2005 | General

The first FEIF Conference (February 11-13, 2005, Copenhagen) was a huge success. 113 participants from 13 countries took part. Five annual meetings took place at the same time (Chairmen, Breeding, Education, Sport and Youth) and extra meetings for Editors and about Promotion took place as well.
On Friday, participants could discuss what is important in the development of riding Icelandic horses with Elisabeth Berger, Benni Lindal, Johann Häggberg, Erik Andersen and Ágúst Sigurðsson. On Saturday, the Danish Olympic Gold medal winner in badminton Poul Erik Høier (currently manager of a football club) explained his view on sport, development and success. Sunday the meeting was informed about recent research on bone spavin by Sigridur Björnsdottir.
Saturday afternoon the participants did visit a special exhibition to promote the Icelandic horse in the Icelandic embassy in the heart of Copenhagen. Outside the embassy they could watch a nice show with Icelandic horses – in Icelandic weather conditions.
