Changes in FIPO: bits

October 11 2004 | Sport

At the moment there are more bits that can be useful for Icelandic horses than are allowed in FIPO and there is no reason to forbid them. Up until now, only bits that are clearly described in FIPO are allowed. This means that new bits have to go a long way to get into FIPO. This system will change.
As of January 1, 2005, all bits and bridles are allowed unless listed as ‘not allowed’. A list of prohibited bits, bridles and combinations of bits and bridles will be maintained by the Sport Committee, under the supervision of the Annual Sport Meeting.
The exact text of the changes is available from the website of FEIF: www.feif.org/service. A revised version of FIPO is available since December 1, 2004.
