FEIF - International Federation of Icelandic Horse Associations
FEIF Conference and Delegates' Assembly

FEIF Conference

Every year - in February or March - FEIF organises a conference, including the yearly Delegates'  Assembly and the annual department meetings for Breeding, Sport, Education, Youth Work, Leisure Riding and national chairmen. Apart from these meetings there are lectures and discussions about general themes.

The conference is open for all active members of FEIF member associations, members of FEIF committees and people otherwise connected to the work of FEIF.

The Delegates’ Assembly takes place as part of the FEIF Conference and is the main meeting where all important decisions are made. The FEIF board and 2 delegates from each FEIF member association participate. Guests and journalists are welcome, but must apply to the FEIF Board in advance. They may not take part in the discussions unless specifically invited to do so.

Each member association must nominate its delegates in advance. Written notification of the name of each delegate must be sent to the FEIF Office at least two weeks before the Delegates’ Assembly. (This does not apply to extraordinary Delegates’ Assemblies). Officially notified delegates only may vote on behalf of a member association and the number of votes of each member association is based on the numbers of its members. The FEIF Board of Directors has one vote.

Proposals put to the Delegates’ Assembly are passed by a simple majority, unless they concern a change in the FEIF statutes, the membership of a new association, or the expulsion of a member association. These require a 2/3 majority in order to be passed.
