Vision and Mission of FEIF

VISION

FEIF is bringing people together in their passion for the Icelandic horse.

MISSION

  • We want to connect Icelandic horse culture, riding, lifestyle, enjoyment and passion.
  • We want to focus on horse welfare.
  • We want to provide pro-active service and knowledge.
  • We want to continuously improve and unify standards.
  • We want to promote the pure-bred Icelandic horse throughout the world.
  • We want to improve recognition of the Icelandic horse.

GOALS

  • To put the welfare of the horse first in everything we do.
  • To organise large scale events, giving people an opportunity to enjoy Icelandic horse culture, riding and life style and to support and develop standards.
  • To define the aspects of the Icelandic horse culture and promote them.
  • To maintain the purity of the breed.
  • To develop and maintain a sole register for the Icelandic horse.
  • To show respect towards the environment.
  • To establish and continuously improve comparable standards for education.
  • To find and improve international sponsoring in cooperation with our member associations.
  • To support member and aspiring member associations to develop their infrastructure as the basis for growth.
  • To maintain and improve internal and external communication.
  • To establish and improve internal FEIF administration and standard PR documents.

International Gæðingakeppni Seminar
In the weekend of August 29 and 30, 2008, an International Gæðingakeppni Seminar will be organised in cooperation with our Danish member association DI.

Landsmót 2008
Landsmót is on its way! Landsmót is the National Horse Show of Island, held every second year.

New FEIF Sport Judges Committee
A new FEIF Sport Judges Committee has been established.

Horse welfare
Horse welfare was one of the main items on the agenda at the FEIF Conference 2008.

YouthCup 2008
The registration of the participants and officials of the FEIF YouthCup 2008, taking place in Brunnadern (CH), July 12 to 20, 2008 has been completed.

Nordic Championships 2008
The Nordic Championships is the bi-annual sport event between Iceland, Denmark, Faroer Islands, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Mid European Championships 2008
The preparations for the Mid European Championships 2008 are on their way.

6th FEIF International Instructor/Trainer Seminar 2009 on 9/11 January 2009
The annual FEIF International Instructor/Trainer Seminar will be held on 9/11 January 2009 at NHB Deurne in the Netherlands.
